I just started Shaky Head fishing this year and until 2 weeks ago never even got a bite.

I was using a bait caster, 12 lb. P line , 1/4 shaky head, with 7.0" rod heavy action.

I am switching to 7.2" Med Heavy fast action, 10 lb P line.

I think with the longer rod with Med Heavy, and 10 lb line I will be able to feel the bottom better along with the fish. If this setup does not give me what I want I will switch again till I find a combo that works best for me.
