Thanks Derrick. Being from FL I am used to always expecting the same for cover; grass. Its either matted or submerged. Occasionally we would come across some down timber or the random Christmas tree sunk by some crappie anglers. Most lakes were 10ft or less in depth and rarely would the water be open enough for throwing anything with a lip in terms of crankbaits. That being said, I can flip and pitch well and know how to pick apart the weeds but when it comes to fishing off shore or deeper than say 8-10 feet, I am still a novice. With what I have read online about the lakes in the circuit, it seems I will get a good chance to learn more of the offshore structure game. I look forward to getting after some fish with everyone this year.
