Boat trailer tags
« on: March 25, 2015, 07:37:33 pm »
Just got new 2016 tags for my boat trailer. Cost me $105 for one year and have the property tax value at $5995! That's freaking insane!!!! Have a 6x10 box trailer with a tax value of $2226 and the boat registration is only $93 for 3 years. Darn right I'm gonna appeal this crud. I'm lucky if the boat is worth $4000, with the trailer. Darn right I'm more than not happy.

Yes, property tax. And just for the trailer.

Some of the problem is I had to change residency when we moved here from Mississippi. That's where I bought the boat and it was a package not individually from the boat. Which makes sense. Can't have a boat without a trailer.

Yea that doesn't make sense to me either, I get one property tax bill every year for the boat and trailer, although I'm  Pretty sure I have a title for both which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me either but who knows

Gonna contact them tomorrow after work and maybe take it there to appeal it. Have until mid may to appeal. My neighbor R.E. had the same thing with his 55 handyman, almost same as a Nomad, and got everything lowered on it.

N.C. Wildlife Resource Commission is now issueing 2 decals rather than 1. If your new decal is dated for 2018 or after, you get 2. One for each side so the expiration date can be seen from either side. Makes sense. Didn't notice any price increase for this either. Haven't made my appeal yet for trailer tags yet. Too busy finding new ignition switch. Will keep y'all posted on the appeal.
