He is right they do have to sale the boats at the end of each year.
I raced for Polaris and Can-Am ATV. Free is not really free.
New Can-Am 800 cc stock motor , tires, rims , bone stock sticker price $13,000.00
I call Can-Am tell them I need a ATV they call a dealer and I only pay $5,000.00 . But then I have to build the atv for racing. Eng. Work, ad programmer, lift kit, tires and new rims, exhaust, snorkel kit. So all in all I will have around $10,000.00 in it. Still better then sticker price. I would race it for 6 months and then list it or sale. I would sale it for sticker price of $13, 000.00 and yes people will buy a jacked up mud racing ATV 6 months old for sticker price cause even if the got it for 10,000.00 they could not build it race ready for under $13,000.00 but I could because of sponsors discounts. Once I sing for it I have one year to pay me the $5,000.00 back. Every year we have to have a new ATV per contract. I would buy 3 at one time and build all 3. I used one for racing, one for a back up, and one for event shows. As long as you get the money out of each atv you put in it you brake even.
