Do share

Lots of fish on beds at Harris, everywhere you go.  Every cutout in every creek.  Some females are roaming, some are around the bed, some males locked on, and some beds with males and females.

I only fished those who were locked on.  I think I got too close to the bed too much. Fished white jig, white craw, white 3" senko........nothing.   Was hard to see today with the overcast skies and wind.

Ron hit it on the nose.  The ones who roam are most likely the bucks waiting for the fry to hatch and to protect them.  You can still get them to bite will take you some time.  The best way for me to tell is when I toss a lizard (white) basically so i can see it.. up above them and drag it back .. if she slaps it with tail or swims around it.. she will bite.. just give it time.  Wanna go mess with some saturday?

I have never been out on the lake " bed fishing " before. Sounds interesting. I have the next two days off i might have to go and mess with the lovely ladies for a day. Although I have a friend who lives here in Sanford and he fishes tournaments in my old club and he refuses to fish beds because he said the brim can completely destroy a bed in a matter of minutes or even seconds. And there goes that nest. And I have heard that only a hand full of the fish that hatch make it to slot fish size. So a lot of things to consider when pulling a slop donkey off a bed. Unless I am incorrect. thought?

Most of the time there is a buck around to protect... what ive done in tournaments and seen and heard of others doing.. is if you catch the buck.. then catch the female.. release the buck... but when your doing it for fun and release right after no harm done

Was at Harris Saturday and the buck were swimming up and down the bank. There were tons of beds but no fish on them...
