Frustrated
« on: January 27, 2014, 06:28:50 pm »
Feel like Charlie Brown when Lucy pulls the football away. AAARRGG!!! Had new part on trolling motor yesterday and worked great. Went and got new nuts and bolts for the mount and got that done except one but was wrong thread size. Got new one today and got everything attached. Test TM, click, that's all I got. Cleaned all plug connections and let it soak for a few. Plugged back in and click. Nothing. Just a click like it wanted to but decided not. Might need to open upper assembly and check the connections. Then I'll check all the fuses. Take one step forward and 15 back. Yep, I'm frustrated.

Running the traps on electric is a pain.

Start at the basics, batteries, hooked up right and has the fuse blown or the breaker needs re-setting.

Check the wire running to the motor plug for juice.

Could be a fuse or wire in the motor or in the upper head area.

Good luck.

Everything is same as it was when foot pedal switch went out. Just replaced that and made sure connections are like they should. Had it running just fine Sunday but just not today.

my problems have always been with the pedal....lots of things can go loose in there.  It was the foot switch for me.

I had a problem withheld pedal, loose and bounced around. Wires came loose and shorted, went all the way back to the battery.

Thinking it might be in TM head. Been bounced and even banged around after I took it off boat. I'm gonna check all I can after work and still have some daylight left. I even put a new strap onto keep it from bouncing. Ain't had chance to try that part out yet but know it will work. Main reason for post is to vent and maybe get input on other things to check that I have not thought of. VENT, VENT.

May want to check the blinker fluid or maybe the flux capacitor, to me kinda sounds like a bad flux capacitor!

Got it running. Apparently it's the plug. After 8 years it's not as tight as it use to be. But hey! It's working! Only thing missing is a lake.

I went today. It wasn't great at all other than my company I had with me. Wind was howling and water was like 42 degrees. Fished deep, middle, and shallow. All kinds of lures. So I'm still on the hunt for this elusive 2014 green fish.

Wanted to go real bad but had maintenance things to do plus needed to take ride on the Harley. Ain't rode for almost 3 months. Now my shoulders hurt  :D. If you've seen my bike you know why.

Tow vehicle in the shop right now. So I'm still sidelined for a while.
