In search of rod/reel Combos and suggestions
« on: March 14, 2017, 10:09:54 am »
So one thing i learned from going out last week is that only having 2 rods and reels is trying and unacceptable. Constantly having to cut and retie line to change lures got to be frustrating. (The fish not bitting for me probably added to my frustration). Is any one looking to part with rod and reels at a reasonable price or have suggestions on new ones? What is your favorite Setup? I think i need at least 2 more for now. ;D

For spinning reels I use Shimano Sedona or Sahare which run about 75$ or so sepending on the size you want. I like the 4000 size but use the 2500 size for smaller baits. I like to have a MH 7' rod ( I like Kistler rods) but have G Lommis and Shimano as well. (I use them for twitch/crank baits,Senko, shaky head, fluketop water, drop shot, light texas rig worm & slider worm, weight less wacky)

Bait caster reels I also use Shimano Currado's the 200 series. These are expensive new but on ebay you can find them for around 70$. I have bought several on Ebay. I also like the 7' rod MH. Difficult to lean to cast but when you figure it out they are great for, Jig, shaky head, crank, top, texas rig, frog.

If you need to borrow a rod reel till you figure out what you want let me know I can help you out.

Again Ebay you can get these used at a fraction on the price of new.
Good luck

Milt
